Trails Center hosting ‘Native American History Weekend’ in Casper
The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center will host a “Native American History Weekend” on June 18 and June 19 in Casper.
The weekend will include stories on Native American culture told by Cleve Bell, an artist and retired teacher who taught at Wyoming Indian High School in Ethete; and from Russel Zephier, a member of the Ogalala Sioux who is working with the Red Cloud Indian School on a project searching for unmarked graves using ground-penetrating radar, according to the Trails Center’s announcement.
Presentations and demonstrations will also be offered on topics like basic survival skills, stone tool making and atlatls.
