ALL OUR RELATIONS: Join us with Crystal Bridges for an evening of topical discussion and creative writing while engaging with works of art from the Crystal Bridges collection. Led by guest instructor Joseph Bruchac, this month we’ll explore the Native American understanding of animals as teachers, relatives, and sources of inspiration. Taking cues from the discussion, our writing focus will be on creating stories or poems that express the participants’ relationship with the animal world.
Joseph Bruchac is a writer and storyteller who creates literature and music that reflect his Indigenous heritage and traditions. He is a proud Nulhegan Abenaki citizen and author of more than 120 books for children and adults including his best-selling series, Keepers of the Earth: Native American Stories and Environmental Activities for Children.
