About Lourdes Valverde
Lourdes Valverde was born and raised in México. She studied Industrial Engineering, although she was always inclined toward the arts. She has taken courses in music, painting, writing, and literature. She loves her country and its traditions, so she is always involved in cultural projects wherever she goes.
She participated in the National Program of Reading Rooms that supports the National Council for Culture and the Arts (CONACULTA) in Mexico for 5 years, He has participated in many cultural programs such as book fairs, theaters, museums, cultural radio, television, and cultural spaces in different states of Mexico. She moved to Bentonville, Arkansas in 2015 and has volunteered on projects for the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art (storytelling in Spanish), the Museum of Native American History (Day of the Dead Festival co-producer, translator, and volunteer), Bentonville Public Library (Spanish Language Classes), Art Center of the Ozarks (Art exhibition and workshops for Day of the Dead festival), The Jones Center in Springdale City (May 5 Festival), Fenix Gallery in Fayetteville (Art Exhibition in celebration of the Day of the Dead).
She currently collaborates with the Museum of Native American History developing bilingual projects for the community. She is a visual artist represented by the ArtVentures gallery in the city of Fayetteville, AR. She enjoys the interaction with the community, children, teenagers, and adults.
