📖 Storytelling Event at MONAH: Keepunumuk – Weeachumun's Thanksgiving Story 🌽🌱

Join us for a special storytelling event at MONAH as we explore the tale of Keepunumuk – Weeachumun's Thanksgiving Story! This beautiful book shares the story of the Three Sisters—corn, beans, and squash—and the Native traditions surrounding the first harvests and Thanksgiving.

🎨 After the story, children and families will get creative with a hands-on craft, making their own Three Sisters Garden Collage to take home! 🌽🌱

This event is FREE and fun for the whole family! It’s the perfect way to learn about the rich history of Indigenous agricultural traditions while celebrating creativity and togetherness.

Listen and celebrate the stories of Native American Women during Women’s History Month! Eldrena Douma (Laguna, Tewa, and Hopi), will share the stories of historic women who influenced her life on March 12th at 11:00 AM CST.

Hear Our Voices usually offers Indigenous stories that give a window into the instructions of the world. This month we are spinning the program to include a unique storyteller’s teachings. Mitch Walking Elk is combining MONAH’s Hear Our Voices monthly program with the Native Conversations series to give a broader perspective on his life’s work.

MONAH is excited to welcome Musckogee Storyteller, Will Hill to the Hear Our Voices series! Watch and listen to Legends by Will Hill, a composition of fun Native American stories.

Join us online on November 13th at 11:00 AM CST for our next installment of Hear Our Voices. The monthly storytelling event curated by Cherokee Storyteller, Gayle Ross. This month we have Navajo (Dineh) storyteller, actress, and author, Geri Keams! Following her performance, there will be a family-friendly craft!

Join us on June 12th at 11:00 am for the next Hear Our Voices storytelling event with Gayle Ross! She will be telling two stories, one for children and one for all ages! Including Cherokee Rabbit Stories. We will even make rattles!

We are very excited to welcome the Jones Benally Family for Hear Our Voices on May 8th at 11:00 AM CST! The whole family will participate in their stories!

Join us on the second Saturday of April at 11 am CST for the next Hear Our Voices with Dr. Lee Francis IV to discuss comics, visual media, and storytelling! He will tell a short story of the war between the North and South Wind and another. Then he will show us how to transition oral stories to visual narrative storytelling!

Join us on the second Saturday of March for the next Hear Our Voices with Choogie Kingfisher! Listen to Choogie as he tells Kituwah-Cherokee stories! The kid’s tales are Kituwah-Cherokee star stories with a craft called Color the Milky Way!

Join Wyandot storyteller Richard Zane Smith as he tells two stories, one of which will be geared towards children and one towards all ages. A related craft will also be available (details coming soon).
